The Silver Lake College women's basketball team had two student-athletes named All-Americans for the 2016-2017 season by virtue of their standout performances on the court.
Junior forward Danelle Buck was named First-Team All-American for the first time. She is a native of Newton and a graduate of Valders High School. Buck led the Lakers in points per game (14.1), rebounds per game (8.6), steals per game (2.6) and free-throw percentage (73.8). She also tied for second on the team with 2.6 assists per game. She's the second First-Team All-American in head coach Mike Flentje's 10-year tenure at Silver Lake College (the other was Raelyn Woock).
Senior guard Amanda Kudick was named Second-Team All-American this season, after being Honorable Mention All-American the previous season. She is a graduate of Kewaunee High School. Kudick led the Lakers in assists per game (3.0) and field-goal percentage (49.3), and she was second on the team in points per game (13.5), rebounds per game (8.3) and steals per game (2.1). Kudick also was named to the All-Tournament Team at the USCAA National Championships in Pennsylvania, where the Lakers advanced to the national semifinals.
